Active parts are in full production; NRND (Not Recommended for New Designs) should be avoided in new projects; EOL/Obsolete parts have a stated last-time-buy window and should be replaced.

Build a cross-reference workflow
For each at-risk part, compare pinout, package, key electrical specs, temperature range and qualification, then validate the candidate on the datasheet and in prototype testing.
Keep an approved alternative list (AVL) with second sources, and combine lifecycle monitoring with buffer stock or last-time-buy decisions for long-life products.
